How much does an ant cost?

Each ant's price is its number, in pounds. #1 is £1, #200 is £200, on up to #364 at £364. Number 365 is the Queen, and she is not for sale on the shop.

How do I buy one?

Any number shown green on the Buy page is available. Tap it to buy. You can also reserve a future number before it has been painted.

How do the drops work?

Between now and Frieze Week, ants are left out across London in a series of drops, each one announced on the day with where to look. You can see them on the home page.

What if I find one during a drop?

Then it is yours. The drop ants are left in the open for whoever comes across them. Finders keepers. If you find one, we would love to see it, so tag @ralph.lazar.

Can I order more than one?

Yes. As many as you want. They can be shipped together for no extra fee.

How do sizes work?

Dimensions are randomised - they will be one of these:

6 × 8 inches (15.2 × 20.3 cm)
8 × 10 inches (20.3 × 25.4 cm)
9 × 12 inches (22.9 × 30.5 cm)
11 × 14 inches (27.8 × 35.6 cm)

Who pays for customs?

You, the purchaser, pay for customs or import duties.

How long for delivery?

I will ship the artwork a few days after it has been painted - so on average 1-2 weeks after the painting date.

In some cases, if I’m travelling, I might only ship the piece a month after it is painted. If this is the case, it will be very clearly marked in the shop, so you’ll be aware of it.

Do you take returns?

No.

Can you personalise it in any way?

No.
